Buttons and Bows (B&B) is both an online boutique (store) and a series of stories. The owner of Buttons and Bows is a fictional character named "The Proprietress," but all the B&B tales are based on actual stories shared by women. The Proprietress here. I couldn’t resist writing about how animals have begun to have a positive impact on this election. It all started with comments by you know who in July. As a childless cat lady who is proud of her choice, I was deeply offended by those remarks.

The Proprietress hosts a post-election day gathering to offer her community comfort and support, as well as a place to enjoy one another's company while sharing stories and ideas for how to be proactive advocates for democracy.

At the gathering, the Proprietress talks about and shares her portrait of a Mother Tree. Mother Trees serve as central hubs in old growth forests. They nurture, protect, and facilitate communication between all the other trees via underground networks.
